My Students

All Day STEM

My kindergarten students need hands-on, experiences to learn and explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

My students will be able to drive their curiosity and become passionate life long learners as they play. They can incorporate their new knowledge into amazing project based learning units! They will then enthusiastically share what they've learned with their peers, families and community at our schools winter exhibition.

Our school is a unique and diverse school, where students want to learn and grow. We have transformed our school into a project based learning environment where our students have opportunities to explore, question, and dive into topics that matter to them.

Project based learning provides the students with hands on, real world connections that they may use to drive their own student-led, collaborative projects. These projects are used as a way to help the students see their education as cross-curricular, motivating, and meaningful to themselves.

We have an 84% free and reduced lunch population and a 30% ELL population. Our students need learning experiences that help them makeconnections to learning beyond the school walls.

My Project

The LEGO materials that I am requesting for my students already have a curricular and play plan for my students use. In other words, I know exactly how they will be utilized. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The "Tubes Experiment Set" and the "Simple Machines" will be great center choices during Literacy and math centers. Students will practice their communication skills as they work together to arrange the tubes and build the machines in creative ways. The "Math Train" and "Café", will be math center choices and popular purposeful play choices each day. "Build Me Emotions" set will help students explore emotions and role play scenarios in low risk ways. "Animal Bingo" will foster cooperative, problem solving play. Then "StoryTales" will let little authors bloom as they create stories and scenes with this fun set.

The donations to this project will help my students start investigating possible career paths and explore STEM activities with super fun materials.

By implementing Literacy, Math, and STEM centers, my students will begin to see their future possibilities of becoming Scientists, Technicians, Engineers, Mathematicians, Authors, Chefs, or anything they feel passionate about . We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long learners and investigators. I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
