Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach high school students who have intellectual disabilities. My students are active learners and eager to apply their learning in their personal lives. In some aspects, they struggle to learn academics and functional skills without the support of staff/adult. However, once motivated with positive reinforcements and rewards, my students go out of their way to discover the beauty of learning by completing their tasks on time.
My Project
My students will use the headphones to block noises in the classroom. They will also use them to motivate them to complete their individual tasks without interference or disturbance from the environment. The headphones can help them focus and pay attention to instructions or directions given to them.
The headphones are also tools to keep the noise level to a minimum in the classroom.
This can lead to less distraction and a better understanding of the routines and meaningful tasks that they have to fulfill or complete before the day ends.
