I teach an awesome group of 22 Bilingual Kindergarten students. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn everything they can.
Our school is a Title I school in a high-need community with limited resources.
All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students struggle getting their basic needs and live without the luxuries that most people take for granted. Learning a new language is very challenging for many of my students. Therefore, they need the support of visual aids and hands-on materials to help them comprehend skills that are taught.
In today's changing society, our children are forced to face many situations that most adults never experienced. Some students come from broken homes where they do the best they can to try to live a somewhat "normal" life. The added stress of having to pass their state required tests only adds to their anxiety and fear levels.
School should be a fun learning environment for all students.
My mission is to make my school a positive and supportive environment that shows our students that we believe in them and support them. In effort to increase our student's motivation, self esteem, and confidence, I would like to place the requested inspirational stickers throughout our school. I want to show our children that we believe in them and support them by putting the inspirational stickers on restroom stall doors, hallway walls, and other high visible areas. The sweatpants, hoodies, socks and shoes will be available to the students that need them. A child should never feel that they are alone on their educational journey.
