Inspire Learning and Creativity Using Technology

My Students

Every student is unique. As a teacher, I need to equip my classroom and students with a variety of tools that will match their diverse learning styles.

My 6th grade class at Rosewood Elementary is full of life and energy.

My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and commute from neighborhoods that are worlds apart. For 6 hours each day, they come together at our small learning community in West Hollywood, to overcome their differences and pursue an education that will give each and every one of them equal access to a bright future.

My Project

My goal is to provide my students with the technological and creative tools that will provide them access to a world of learning. Video and photography in the classroom puts real world tools into the hands of students, engages them, and enriches their learning experience. They'll be able to create photo books or photo exhibits on the myriad of subject areas they are learning in the 6th grade. My students will learn how to create videos, watch them, and then learn to critique and revise their products. Students will produce exciting projects they will be proud to present to their school community.

Video making and photography will not only reinforce the literature and textbooks they are reading in class.

Beyond the books, this time honored art will open their eyes to a whole new way of viewing and creating a world of their own.
