Inspire Future Leaders to Buzz Through Basic Coding!
My students need 4 Bee-Bot coding robots and a "starter" set to integrate basic computer science concepts in all subject areas to make learning hands on and fun!
My Kindergarten students are the world's future leaders! I am inspired each day by the 18 children I am privileged to teach and grow with. I am greeted each morning by students who have a thirst for knowledge and are eager to jump into learning.
My student's excitement inspires me to give my all and do my best!
Our school provides a safe, curriculum rich, positive environment for my students to learn. As a Kindergarten Teacher, my job is to instill a lifetime love of learning for my students.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will be used to supplement and enrich the curriculum for my young learners while tying in basic coding and sequencing skills. A Bee-Bot is a programmable robotic that can be used in most subjects to make learning fun and exciting, while learning 21st century technology skills.
The four programmable robots will be used by my young learners for hands on learning throughout the year during our literacy and math center time and lessons on spatial sense.
By utilizing the requested starter kit, the students will learn the basics of coding, concepts of directional and map sequencing. I will also be able to differentiate needs for students by having some use pre-constructed mats and having others create their own mats.
The robots can be utilized in many subject areas. An alphabet mat can be used with Bee-Bot to support new reading skills. Other reading skills that I can use Bee-Bot to work on are story sequencing and retelling. During math centers Bee-Bot can help students grow number sense, problem solving skills and pattern recognition. All of the above can be supported while providing the students an opportunity to collaborate and communicate, a skill that is essential in Kindergarten!
