My students are always excited and wanting to know what project we are doing, the moment they walk into the art room. We have the inspiration needed, and we can create, but we need supplies, so we ask for your help!
I teach inner city students in a K-8 grades who don't have the opportunity that many other students have during their grade school years.
My students are fantastic kids and are always enthusiastic about art and especially making various projects. They are very talented and love to create, but need supplies!
My Project
My students will be able to do projects with the various art projects with these supplies that we would not otherwise get to do. My students need watercolors, brushes to replace our falling apart brushes, our oil pastels are usually used up after just one project, so we are in desperate need of oil pastels and soft pastels. Art gives students opportunities to use expression and to critically think through projects using different mediums. If this project gets funded, my students will have the opportunity to create what inspires them.
I want to give to my students a wide variety of experiences with different mediums as possible and do encourage their creativity.
By funding this project, my students will be able to be creative with projects that will enhance higher order thinking skills. Art is problem solving and creating, which will serve students as they move through their young lives.
