This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

HMS C.R.E.A.T.E. Studio works with over 160 high energy middle school students in grades 5-8 are learning, experimenting and playing creatively through a variety of art materials and experiences. My students inspire me daily with their creativity and determination to succeed despite facing many hardships.

Our goal is to create a Thematic Based Art Studio where students can explore, experiment and discover a variety of core content material through arts experiences.

Middle school artists work individually and collaboratively in an open studio setting.

Our latest project involves beautifying our hallways and own bedrooms with motivational and positive quotes on beautifully painted canvases. We are also busy posting artwork on our social media pages for all to enjoy!

My Project

Students will design and print inspirational and motivational quotes to adhere onto their painted canvas. They will use the Cricut vinyl cutter design software to plan a layout of their quote using a variety of fonts and symbols. After the vinyl letters are cut on the cricut machine, students will then use the tools to layout their quotes and phrases on a painted canvas panel. The canvas panels will be hung within our class and right outside our door for all students to enjoy in the hallway. Students will also create a motivational quote canvas to take home and hang in their room.
