Help me give my students an assortment of Jolly Rancher Treats so they can complete a Young Entrepreneur Assignment- creating their own unique Jolly Rancher flavor and creating their own brand of candy.

My Project

Are you a fan of Jolly Ranchers? From a teacher's perspective, they are the perfect special treat in a classroom- economical and so full of flavor. Many teachers give rewards to the students who have completed all of their work by the end of the week. My philosophy is a bit different- I gift ALL OF MY STUDENTS with one jolly rancher on Fridays- hence the name "Jolly Rancher Fridays." I know that all of my students work to the best of their ability in my classes and I want them all to have something to look forward to each week. Many of our students come from families that struggle financially, so this simple treat of this simple candy means so much to them each week. They delight in taking turns passing out this weekly delectable.

I would also like to use these Jolly Ranchers for groups of students to come up with a plan of their own- what new flavor of Jolly Ranchers would you create?

Why would you create this flavor? What marketing techniques would you use to create an interest in your new flavor? All of these questions will be worked on together with partners and will be presented by using the poster board. Students will also come up with their own type of candy and will create a plan and will depict this plan while using the poster board.

For the past ten years I have been purchasing the sweet treats every week with my own money. Times are hard for everyone these days. I no longer have the resources to purchase this simple treat that has brought so much joy to these students each week. Please consider funding this project.
