Help me give my students these resources to help them learn more about their heart and brain. How exciting will it be to be able to research within the pages of a book and then make a heart!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students walk into my gifted classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. It's so exciting for them, as well as me, to watch them conquer a challenge and get super excited about new topics they aren't so sure about. For many of them, it is their favorite part of the school day.
I teach at a Title I school in Mississippi, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Even as we continue to navigate through another school year during a pandemic, my students are still eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can. They are like little sponges soaking up more information than I could ever imagine.
My Project
Our students are so overjoyed to learn and create new things! We cannot wait to help guide them through science and STEM lessons about the human heart and brain.
Can't you just imagine looking at pictures of your heart and brain in a book and then getting to build a heart or brain out of clay, listen to your own heart beat, calculate heart beats for second, and so much more!
We are so thankful that the curriculum we teach in the gifted program allows us to choose units that we believe will be beneficial to our students. The books and other materials in this project are just a fraction of what we hope to be able to do to help light up our students little brains!
