Help me give my students enjoyment through play and learning. Insects are one of those subjects that peak the interest of everyone. Not to mention it's fun.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Well, let’s be real, my students love going outside to play and when they are huddled in a circle on the ground, I know that they are looking at an insect. When they find one, they capture it, pick it up with a piece of mulch, and bring it to me to see it. We then discuss what they think the insect is, what it looks like, and what we think it eats. I think children in general are always excited to see any insect besides spiders. They will not go near a spider. This is one of the themes they can’t wait for. We enjoy learning about the different types. The books and bugs will help us understand them better. Hands on are their best quality. I think they learn better with visible elements. We have just received new baby dolls. Everyone is excited. They only need accessories. We all love learning something new everyday.
