My Project

The youngest engineers and innovators at this school love going through the engineering design process and creating their new ideas. As innovators, TK-5th graders continue to work on planning, creating, iterating and reflecting through hands-on projects. As part of their reflections on these projects, 3rd-5th grade students use technology and digital portfolios to record their learning in an ongoing digital journal, which can be reviewed throughout the year and shared with families.

The gift of having microphone headphones will allow each student to simultaneously give individual oral reflections of their work in their own digital portfolios next to a picture/video of their created project.

While students work, build, problem solve and create in a collaborative model of 2-4 students, their reflections of learning can be shared individually on a device by having microphone headsets for each student. This allows learning to be differentiated and individual reflections on learning to be captured.

Additionally, individual microphone headset provide opportunities for other digital apps and programs to be accessed and used by students to create work such as stop motion animations and other video/movie projects. Having these microphone headsets are tools that will allow creativity to be shared with limited noise/background sounds interfering with the work of our youngest creators!
