Innovators Need Resources to Turn Inspiration Into Reality
Help me give my students MagnaTiles and other manipulative/construction items, as well as dry erase boards. We have a limited supply of these resources and they love to create new inventions and send pictures home during the day.
My lifelong dream has been to teach Kindergarten. My students and I become a family from the first time that they step into the classroom. My past students have known me as "Momma Bear". They know that I won't let anyone mess with my cubs and I will do everything in my power for them. I love introducing them to the magic that happens in school!
My students come to me with a widely-varied background of learning and life experiences.
I strive to provide them with a rich educational experience in a safe and loving environment that will allow them to grow and learn in my classroom, free of worry.
We are over 60% free and reduced-price lunch in my district. Teaching and learning during a pandemic is challenging but my students are amazing and they are learning about the power of yet and perseverance. Together we can work to get the things that my students need for success. Your partnership allows us opportunities that would otherwise not be available. Thank you!
My Project
My students have amazing ideas on a daily basis! They love to use their imaginations to build with construction type manipulatives. They develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the process of bringing their ideas into reality, not to mention social skills such as sharing and positive communication, as we have limited supplies of these types of resources.
Every day my students approach me to show me their innovative designs made from our available resources and ask me to take a picture to send home but we don't seem to ever have enough for everyone to get close to having the parts that they need.
The dry erase boards can be used for drafting plans for student ideas, as well as learning to write our numbers, number sentences, letters, words, and sentences. Teachers Pay Teachers is a life-saver. I find many resources for my class on that site, including STEM ideas and most recently, digital resources for remote learning during the current pandemic. The gift card would help me to purchase resources to help spark learning and creativity.
