Innovative Writing

My students need tools and resources available on-line to develop and apply STEM/21st Century skills, critical problem solving, and innovation needed to reach their potential. We need six Chromebooks.

My Students

As digital communication continues to increase, students need additional resources, time, and guidance to develop and practice their skills. Students need multiple opportunities to explore, navigate, and search efficiently on-line.

Ahh- "sevies"!

Just released from the tender loving care of elementary; they are thrown into the big bad world of junior high! Life is hitting them square in the face and they are learning independence at a rapid rate. Many times they are just beginning to be entrusted to use the family computer for school work and research. Contrary to popular belief, they are not very savvy at using technology with purpose and intention.

My Project

Students sit in groups of 4-5 at each table. This helps to foster collaboration, communication, and community. I have six tables and with six Chromebooks; I would be able to offer a laptop to each group. I would like to eventually earn a class-set, but this is a great start towards accessibility to an abundant amount of resources. Currently, students seek the use of computers outside of class in order to type essays, research for projects, and to check their grades. I hope that by putting these Chromebooks at each table, students will be able to complete these tasks more efficiently.

All of our lives are impacted by technology through the use of computers, devices, or phones.

While there was a time that 7th graders were not a part of this digital community; it is no longer the case. With the integration of technology in the classroom, students will be instructed how to use it effectively, responsibly, and efficiently.
