Innovative Solutions to Real World Problems

Help me give my students the opportunity to invent change! Students will have the opportunity to identify "real world problems" and create innovative solutions through the use of these 6 drawing pads and our 3D printer.

My Students

While our students at PPS are known for their high academic achievement and an all around commitment to success, they also belong to a school district with 70% of all students falling below the poverty line. We encourage our students to look past their goals and achieve more than any requirements set for them. Throughout the year, we are constantly celebrating student success in not only academics, but behavior, attendance, and positive social interactions. The faculty and staff members here Phillips at are committed to molding and forming both successful students and well-rounded citizens.

Our students never cease to amaze us!

We are constantly recognizing individual student achievement as well as chart topping scores on standardized tests. We set challenging goals, and our students surpass even our highest expectations. We know the importance of not just knowing our students can be successful, but making sure that they, too, know their full potential!

My Project

Some of the brightest and most capable minds are those of young adults. Given the right tools and the encouragement to create more, students have the potential to solve problems that could change the lives of people all over the world! These drawing pads will provide our students with this chance.

These drawing pads paired with our 3D printer will provide students the perfect opportunity to not only identify real world problems that affect our daily lives, but will also give them the chance to design plausible solutions to these problems through critical thinking and creative implementation.

Students will first identify a problem and conduct research to better understand all factors of the issue. They will begin to brainstorm possible solutions and create a design for their product. After creating a design board, students will be able to use these drawing pads to further illustrate and map out their product. Once the design has been created, reviewed, and revised, students will print their product using the 3D printer and present it to a board of teachers, administrators, and peers.
