This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are amazing! They are creative, funny, and determined little people! Most of our students come from a tough life at home, yet they show up everyday with a willingness to learn. I admit, some days are more difficult then others, and some students have a harder time getting into school mode than others, but the teachers I work with want the kids to succeed no matter what. We are a small school, but we have a huge love for our students and our teachers!

Our students are the number one reason to be a teacher at this school, and they deserve the best school experience we can offer!

Some of our students need a hug, a friendly word, or even just a smile that says, "You matter!" In our school, we strive to make students want to come to school, and we want school to be fun. Most importantly, we want our students to know they are part of a team, and they impact the teachers' lives every single day!

My Project

As a first year librarian, my main goal is to get my students reading for fun! Although the bean bag chairs I already purchased are fulfilling that wish, I'd like tables to do creative learning activities with my students.

New tables will help my students collaborate with each other on a variety of informational resource activities.

We will be able to do educational activities, like writing research papers, along with fun, hands-on projects like making advertisements for the students' favorite books!

Libraries today are shifting into a "Learning Commons" type of area, and I'd love my students to experience that!
