My Project

This project aims to enhance high school students’ understanding of Algebra, specifically in solving three-variable equations, by incorporating hands-on, interactive learning tools. Using solar-powered cars and Frisbees, students will explore mathematical concepts in an engaging, real-world context. The project will provide opportunities for students to work collaboratively, apply critical thinking, and connect abstract algebraic concepts to practical applications.

Objectives:: improve ,engage, and connect students’ ability to solve and understand three-variable equations.

Solar Car Design Challenge: Students will build and test solar cars, gathering data on speed, distance, and time. Using this data, they will formulate and solve three-variable equations to optimize car performance.

Frisbee Flight Experiment: Students will analyze the flight paths of Frisbees, measuring angles, distance, and velocity. They will use this information to construct and solve algebraic models representing three-variable equations.

Expected Outcomes: Increased student engagement and participation in Algebra classes. Improved understanding of three-variable equations as evidenced by assessments. Development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on experimentation.
