My Students
The students of the San Ramon Valley Unified school district are a diverse group of learners. While they are digital natives and born into a world full of technology, they still need the computer science training and opportunity to create, explore and engage with technology. Unfortunately, currently there are limited resources like this at individual schools
To address the needs of our students, our district is building innovation centers that will provide teachers and students with the opportunity to check out and explore STEAM resources and activities.
Our students need hands-on experiences and time to tinker around. Our hope is these innovation centers provide a variety of choices to help teacher integrate more computer science exploration and education into their curriculum while equipping our students with the 21st-century skills.
My Project

Emerging technologies and innovation in industries are rapidly changing how we live our lives and this requires a major shift in classroom instruction and learning.
The Next Generation Science Standard address the skills my student need to succeed as they continue their academic journey and beyond.
My project helps me grow my classroom resources for the implementation of the new science standard. The Beet-Bot Robots, SAM LABS kits, and Makey Makey kits will allow us to have hands-on experiences and allow students to apply their knowledge by building and creating. Our world is changing and so must our classroom resources. The educational resources in this project come with lessons that will help me integrate more computer science education into different aspects of our daily curriculum. Students will get hands-on experience with STEM activities and time to "tinker around". These classroom tools can be used to cover a wide variety of subjects, making learning about computer science relevant, interactive and fun.
