Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into the classroom every day full of wonder and excitement. They are motivated students who come to school ready to learn. I want them to believe that they can accomplish anything. My students are creative and aspiring innovators. They love to read and love lots of positive attention.

I teach at a Title I school in Salinas, California where many students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of our students come from farm working families who migrant to other areas following the season crops. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn. They enjoy school and aspire future success.

My Project

As a tool, technology will make learning engaging and interesting for my students. By adding two Chromebooks and headphones to our class, my students will be able to access reading programs, practice basic computer skills and type their writing pieces. Furthermore, online math resources will help students gain math skills in a fun and interactive way. In addition, they will have access to learning research skills.

Many students in our community do not have access to computers and the Internet at home.

Therefore, as an educator, I hope to give them as many opportunities to utilize such wonderful resources. As our society moves toward a digital world and computer-based testing, the more practice available the better prepared my students will be for their future.
