Ink, Wipes, Pencils...We Are Ready For The School Year...Let's Go!
Help me give my students some basic supplies to combat the flu season, ink so that I can print out materials on the go, and pencils so that my students can always be ready to get to work!

My Students
My students are from varied ethnic backgrounds. Many of my kids deal with the realities of poverty, homelessness, and crime-infested communities. In my eyes, my students the are gems that have developed unique survival skills reminiscent only of children that grow up in the poorest urban communities where survival is key.
Ultimately, my students desire to be successful.
Some dream of becoming an educator themselves, an architect, a doctor, or to take on the entertainment scene like many of the young artistes they admire.My students are amazingly creative, insightful and genuinely funny. I admire the resilience of my students and their ability to find humor where others may see darkness.
My students come to me with varied socio-emotional needs. They gravitate towards the structure that schools offers within their somewhat complex lives.
My Project
As simple as it may seem, some of our families simply cannot afford the basic supplies that students need in class. I want to provide my students with pencils and other basic supplies so that they are always ready to get started on their work.

This has happened to me many times; while frustrating, it also limits my ability to make adjustments to differentiated materials for my students on the go! Starting the year with ink in my printer will make a world of difference for my students.
As soon as summer ends, flu season begins! Having sanitizing wipes and tissues in the classroom will show students that I care about their needs while ensuring that we reduce the chance of students getting sick.
