Every morning on the news, you hear about the budget cuts my school district is facing due to the state not passing the budget. In preparation for the upcoming school year, I will not allow the budget cuts to impact my incoming group of students. We must continue to learn and achieve greatness.
Due to the budget cuts, a growing class size is now a reality and in order to prepare for them, I need your help!
I teach at an awesome S.T.E.M school on the west side of our town. We are a Title I school in addition to having a 96.7% low income rate as well as a high mobility rate of 41.4%.
Many students see my school as a safe and nurturing place due to all of the violence occurring around them daily. I want to continue to provide an engaging learning environment despite the growing class size.
My Project
Acquiring current materials at varying levels is becoming extremely challenging due to budget cuts. As a teacher, I am still responsible for differentiating my curriculum for students based on their independent learning levels. This isn't an easy task and it typically requires copy paper and tons of ink. I also use ink cartridges for assessments, projects, task cards, state testing projects, and student designed teaching tools.
We need these materials to provide hands-on experiences and learning beyond the textbook.
By providing ink to my classroom, I will be able to provide my students with learning opportunities that are Common Core aligned and geared towards their independent learning level. Please consider donating to my classroom!
