Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and come to school every day despite their economic situation. Our school is located in the southernmost part of Texas. We are a border town so therefore, Spanish is a dominant language. Limited English speaking students are served through the Bilingual program. My dream for these kids is for them to learn the most English possible and fall in love with learning.
School is probably the only place where they get the opportunity to speak English and read books.
Our school currently started with an initiative blended learning program and the students are ecstatic with this new program. They look forward in coming to school everyday because they don't want to miss out!
My Project
I have a working printer in my classroom; however, we go through ink cartridges pretty quickly. The last ink cartridge I had to use my own money to purchase. It's getting very costly to me, but I want my students to be able to print what they need, such as articles for research papers, pictures and word documents for book projects and progress reports with their grades, etc.
Receiving ink cartridges for my classroom will be very beneficial to my students.
Rather than having to print from home (many do not have this option) or find a friend or family member with a working computer and printer, they will be able to print from our classroom.
