My Project

The materials I am hoping to add to our classroom supply will ensure that a grade level of underfunded and overcrowded classrooms have access to everything students will need this year. I teach in a low-income, extremely diverse population including refugees from numerous countries like Afghanistan, Syria, and Venezuela (among many others). Our students and their families typically do not have the funds to provide their own supplies or contribute to classroom supplies. For a fifth grader in our school, something as simple as having a pencil to write with each day can be a brand new experience.

The pencils, markers, paper, and organization supplies on this list will help create organized, safe learning spaces for an unstable student population who typically have not enjoyed those luxuries.

A reliable classroom that is able to provide that which their parents cannot is my goal for my students this school year.
