Curious, imaginative, fun-loving, creative: these are just some of the words I'd use to describe my new group of students. My classroom is made up of eight smart and endearing young people diagnosed with Autism. We are located in a low-income school where I need to buy most of my own supplies. An autism classroom is not run in the traditional way.
My students require a much more individualized and specialized way of learning.
They learn through hands-on materials and visuals. When provided with this type of learning environment, my students can learn and excel! But first, we need some basic supplies to keep our classroom running smoothly!
My Project
Our classroom printer/copier is a very important part of our classroom. As an autism support teacher, I need to be able to have access to many items very quickly. Our school has only 2 main copiers located in the school's main office. Those 2 copiers are not always easily accessible when needed. In order for our classroom copier/printer to work, though, it has to have INK! We use at least 5-6 ink cartridges a year. We are currently using our last one. We need to quickly restock our HP 64 ink so that we are able to work and practice our important skills! These cards that are printed out need to be in color. The picture cards are part of their academic programs and without this ink their programs can lack in their effectiveness
Our classroom copier/printer makes a world of difference in our classroom and truly enhances each child's academics.
We need both black and colored ink for our printer so that we are able to continuously use it on a daily basis
