Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 19 students are bright, creative, energetic and eager to learn more. They come from a variety of backgrounds, but all belong to a community school in the inner city. A majority of my students are bilingual or English language learners. They are always practicing their English and reading skills.
The students in my classroom enjoy learning to read and reading to learn.
They enjoy reading their own books and listening to different stories read to them.
These students deserve the chance to excel in their education so they can continue to better their lives and the lives of others!
My Project
The ink and paper will help my students learning by allowing them to be able to see what is written on the papers and readings I hand out. Right now I print papers at home and make copies at work. The copy machine makes really light copies and not everything is printed from the original copy. This makes it very hard for the students to read what is on their worksheets or readings.
My students deserve to be able to see what is on the paper without squinting!
Right now I often put the paper that the students are working on up on the projector so they can read from the front board. This works but makes it difficult during independent work when some students read slower or faster than others. Some students are also more successful and more focused when they have a paper copy in front of them.
The ink and paper will also save me time from drawing in the missing lines or pictures on worksheets or readings that have been copied poorly.
Ink and paper are a basic necessity for most jobs; they are both need in high demands at schools as well.
