My students need color printer ink. We are lucky to be in a classroom that has computers. However, we can't always maximize our technology, because we run out of ink.

My Students
My students work hard. They want to succeed. However, it is hard for some of them to do so, when they are not given opportunities. I have the chance to provide them with technological opportunities. It's exciting, however, it's hard to supply all of the needed equipment on a teacher's salary.
My school is located in a Salt Lake City suburb.
The students try very hard despite difficult circumstances at home. A lot of our students don't have access to technology at home. However, our world is so inundated with technology. We want to provide our students with every opportunity to succeed in the world, including the navigation of technology. Our classroom is outfitted with 15 computers. Each child has access to these computers throughout the school day. It is such a great opportunity for our students to practice real world skills in a classroom setting.
My Project
We feel very fortunate to have computers in our classroom. However, as a teacher, I find that a large amount of equipment provisions and replacements fall to me. I would love to provide my students with every opportunity that we are afforded because of our computer situation. However, it is hard to provide all of these things from a teacher's salary. Try as I might, it just never seems to be enough. I am requesting a supply of color ink for our printer. I want my students to feel the pride and accomplishment that comes with publishing and printing their work. I want my students to see a project through from conception to completion. Having the ability to print our work and proudly present it to other students will have a profound effect on my students. This will have a positive impact on both their academic achievement and their confidence.
My students don't often complain because of their lack in owning material possessions.
However, this does have the potential to set them back as they are trying to succeed and progress in life. I have been given the chance to provide my students with technology training. Having ink to fill our printer will give my students the opportunity to take pride in their work and gain the confidence necessary to succeed in our technologically driven world.
