it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever looked at a black and white map? Me either, and neither should my students. Many of them do not have access to computers and rely on in class pictures, text, and maps when studying history.
Thanks to generous donors across the world, our class has just received a color printer to view color images for our social studies class.
Now we need extra ink so our maps and pictures will never run out of colors.
My students come from across the world, but few have traveled outside their own community, or came directly to the US from their home country. They are committed to being successful, and many hope to be the first in their family to graduate high school and college.
My Project
Color ink will help us keep our printer well stocked with ink needed to print images and maps in color. Students will be able to have their own color copies of pictures to look at, write about, and learn from. They can be creative and tell stories using these color images. Most importantly, they will learn valuable map reading skills using historical maps. We want to have extra ink so we never run out!
Without the use of color pictures, students have a hard time connecting to social studies and history. So much of our class includes images, motifs, artwork, and maps. Students need to be able to see these things hands-on, in front of them, not just on a projector. Help us stock up on ink!
Our printer is running low on ink and we can't continue to enjoy images and photos if we do not have ink.
This project will impact their understanding of the world around them, and help them connect the places they see on television with the places they learn about in the classroom. Please help us!
