Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a school counselor working from home during the pandemic, I have to supply my own materials such as ink from my printer. In high school, among other duties, the counselors maintain the records for students and ensure the transcripts are correct. Having approximately 500 students, that means printing 500 transcripts per semester and schedules with each change. My personal home printer prints approximately 20 pages per ink cartridge, little did I know when I purchased it :( As a result, I am having to spend hundreds of dollars of my own personal money to complete this task. Having any ink provided is amazing and so helpful!!
My Project
Working from home means supplies are limited to what I personally can provide. My Title 1 school simply is not in the position to be able to provide ink for all of our staff, who are required to work from home. As a school counselor, I have to print and maintain records to ensure every student is on track for graduation and note what is needed to students off track to get backtrack. In addition, with each schedule change, I print the schedule as it is part of our record process. This process requires multiple printings of records. I currently have 500 students with which this needs to be completed, so this requires an abundance of ink.
Any help with ink means I can quickly ensure students are on track and those who do not receive the assistance they need to be able to graduate on time!
