Help me give my students visual aids and instructional materials tailored to their level of English proficiency by supporting my request for color ink cartridges.
I currently work with students who speak Karen, Karenni, Shan, Chin, Burmese, Arabic, Mon, Jarai, Swahili, and Spanish at home while they learn the academic and social English skills they need to excel in school.
My students are eager to learn about the world around them as well the English and skills necessary to become active and positive members of the global community.
My students are primarily resettled refugees from Southeast Asia and Central Africa with limited, disrupted, or no, formal education experience. I teach over 80 English Language Learners from Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
My Project
Color ink cartridges will refill the color printer in our ESL classroom. I use the color printer daily, not only for instruction within my classroom, but to support school staff in communication with parents, and classroom teachers across the school in their instruction of English learners.
A color printer is a powerful tool for an ESL Teacher; color ink catridges allow me to print instructional resources, photographs of vocabulary concepts, instructional aids for classroom teachers, and communication resources for office staff.
Colorful photographs and instructional aids allow teachers to engage young learners in practice of reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities to strengthen their English proficiency. Color printing allows teachers to share digitally created student work with families. Color photographs help teachers and staff to communicate with non-English speaking students and their families. Access to this instructional tool is essential to serving a school with a large popluation of English learners.
