This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with a group of determined and intellectually gifted scholars. My students all come from low-income communities and always manage to come into class every day eager and ready for the next adventure. I strive to create a safe, warm and welcoming environment for all my students.
My students know that mistakes are opportunities for learning and are not punitive.
I encourage my students to push their thinking through critical analysis and high-order thinking questions and discussions. I want to supply my students with the tools they need to be successful, not only in my classroom but in life in general.
My Project
I feel it is essential for students to be able to have access to computers so they can practice basic skills such as typing reports. Many of my students don’t have access to these resources at home.
I want my classroom to be the central hub for all technological needs!
Last year I was fortunate enough to receive 8 laptops through DonorsChoose.org! This year all I need to complete my project is some ink and paper.
Students will be able to use the computers in order to type up projects and reports for any of their classes. I want them to have access to printing as well.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
