In the new world of Covid 19 everything about school is very different. We are constantly washing hands, wearing masks, and sanitizing everything. This alone brings many challenges to learning. Things that once could be shared are no longer able to be shared. Routines are still different and the world that they new before has become different. Everyone is adjusting to the "new normal" of daily life.
My students face many adversities in their life and work constantly to overcome and exceed their own expectations of what they are capable of.
This is particularly challenging with COVID. They do not have access to many materials and other things necessary to learn. They can't control the circumstances of their life but they never give up and strive to challenge themselves.
We are a free breakfast and lunch school. We are located just outside of a joint military base. We serve a high number of students who have parents in the military. The students are so eager to become active learners and problems solvers. The social and emotional skills that are developed as well as the teamwork and leadership skills will forever mark their young lives.
My Project
Printer ink is always a needed supply for teachers and students around the world. We are no exception. My class has a desire to be able to share their work with their classmates and others. In order to do this we need to resupply the ink in the printer so that they can print their stories and other work to share.
Great writing and learning start with being able to hear your work read aloud or back to you.
Imagine the voices coming from 33 different computers all talking about different things. This not only drives the students crazy but everyone else as well.
The earbuds will allow my students to be able to access the Google apps that they have on the computer that include talk to text and story read back. When the students have accommodations for testing or. they are working on skills at their level on a specific computer program they need to hear what is being said on their computer.
