This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am anxiously preparing for my incoming kindergarten class of 2020-2021. This year I am committed to helping these kids see themselves as capable learners, to learn a growth mindset, that they can persevere through tricky things, and to be a group of friends.

My classroom will be comprised of children from various backgrounds.

Our school is a title-1 school, serving those coming from a low socio-economic background. My students will represent various ethnic and religious groups, adding to a rich culture in our room. Some students will be proficient in English, while others will be developing their English language skills in our class. In addition to various English language abilities, our school is various inclusive with various ability levels and socio-emotional needs in the room. I cannot wait to meet these students and to be part of a year of their growth!

My Project

Just like chocolate chips and specialty vanilla take cookies to the next level, organization supplies and extra materials for students take learning to the next level!

Here are reasons for why I would love these in my classroom!

I love these triangular pencils for kindergartners to help build pencil grips. Large push pins also help with building fine motor skills when doing fun push pin art at the rug. Colorful rainbow pencils will be used for fun writing of sight words and other writing practice AND for small birthday gifts! I love all things organizing when it comes to my room! It keeps me sane and organized mentally when I am organized physically.
