My Students

We are a trauma-heavy, poverty-stricken elementary school with a large population of homeless students and families.

Despite the obstacles they are faced with on a daily basis, the students are passionate about learning.

Their enthusiasm for learning is infectious.

In addition to their in-classroom learning, students also learn physical education, art, technology, and music. Seeing the smiles on the faces of so many of these children is highly rewarding and drives you as a teacher to continue giving them everything you have.

My Project

Our school has been fortunate enough to receive brand new soccer balls from our district and brand new basketballs from DonorsChoose this year and the students have been busy putting them to good use.

Now, we need an electric pump to keep them properly inflated.

We currently have a small hand pump to inflate the balls but with so many balls to inflate, we need a better way to do so. Having an electric pump would be the perfect thing for our classroom and ensure that all of our beautiful new equipment remains well-cared for and up to the standards that our students deserve.
