This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

An Inflatable Axe Throwing game would bring so many smiles to my students with Special Needs, not to mention the amount of practice they would get throwing and kicking to a large-scale target! This grant would help support not only object control skills such as throwing, catching and kicking but also perceptual motor concepts like visual tracking, kinesthetic awareness and spatial awareness.

Object control skills can bridge a gap between my students with special needs and their peers at recess and leisure time!

Every child wants to have friends to play with. My students are so kind and caring, always concerned about each other during adapted physical education lessons. Practicing skills like catching, throwing and kicking would give them much needed experience to generalize with their peers for outdoor play. This Inflatable Axe Throwing game can also be used for amazing events such as a gross motor carnival, Harvest Festival, 5th grade culmination celebration and even during the extended school year!
