My students need an iPad to help them reach new heights within the technology world. They will have reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies directly at their finger tips with the numerous apps available.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from low-income families that are of Hispanic and African-American descent. Most of the students speak two languages and struggle with the transitions between the languages. Some students can not afford basic school supplies, get a good night sleep, concentrate on their educational success due to home issues that some adults never have to think about. It is my job to provide a safe and effective environment for a successful academic future. I focus on each of my students' needs through small group and one on one work. It is my goal to keep students engaged and focused while in small groups. I have to be very creative with this due to our schools limited funding for extra materials. These materials would help my students stay focused and productive during their center time.
My Project
Students will be able to use this iPad individually or in small groups. Students will be able to practice all subjects with the unlimited amount of academic apps available for download. Each student will have their own section to be able to practice their particular needs.
Educational apps will support Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Science, and Social Studies.
With this infinite amount of academic support the students will be able to reach their learning goals in all subject areas. They will get extra support and gain the knowledge needed to work with technology. The world is surrounded by technology so we need to make sure our students are able to use it within their academics.
