My students come to school every day ready and excited to learn. My students come from many diverse backgrounds which gives my students many opportunities to learn from each other on a daily basis.
My school is part of the Leader in Me program which believes every child has their own strengths and the ability to be a leader.
My school and classroom provide different opportunities for each child to lead in different ways. We set and track academic and personal goals throughout the year to be able to watch the growth and meet high expectations. With these leadership skills, my students will become hardworking, successful leaders in our future society.
My Project
Technology is an imperative resource needed in classrooms today. Our students are the future and need to learn modern day technology to help them succeed in life. The anniversary of Hurricane Harvey just passed, and students need technology now more than ever to help keep them focused and motivated on their school work.
iPads are an excellent technological resource to keep students engaged in their learning.
Recently we had two Osmos donated to our classroom. These Osmos connect to an iPad to allow students to learn to code, work on reading and math skills, and bring their drawings to life. The Osmo is a camera that sees what the students are creating on the table in front of the iPad. It then transfers that work to the iPad using the Osmo program. Unfortunately, we do not have iPads available to use with our Osmos.
We will also be able to use these iPads to help differentiate instruction to meet all student's needs. Children benefit from using technology to learn new skills and create new ideas daily.
