Indoor Recess YAY!

Help me give my students hands on STEM activities and games to utilized during indoor recess and Center time. This will allow the students to be hands-on and collaborate with one another while learning and having fun together!

My Students

I am a very lucky teacher to be able to spend my day with such a wonderful classroom of 22 caring, helpful and hardworking kids.

At the beginning of the school year we start off as classmates.

Throughout the next few months, we become a family. The kids truly care about each other. Like all families, we will have our ups and downs but day in and day out these kids work hard and love learning new things! We all come from different backgrounds and it is important to differentiate in order to help all students grow up to be successful individuals.

My Project

I have 22 first graders in my 1st grade classroom. The past few years have been very challenging due to COVID, but my students have done an amazing job and I am so proud of each one of them! They are very eager to learn and are very active. In these winter months we have indoor recess frequently. The kids miss going outside but with new indoor recess materials, they will have many opportunities to work together and be creative.

The STEAM activities and games will be utilized during Indoor Recess as well as Center Time.

This will allow the students to be hands-on and collaborate with one another while learning and having fun at the same time. During this time, the students will be using their imaginations and learning from one another. Learning through play is so important!

A tracing pad will give them opportunities to draw and color whatever they would like. The clear storage boxes will house all of their coloring utensils, like colored pencils and crayons. This will make clean-up time quick and easy, so we can get to lunch on time.

Card games are among another of their favorite things to play with at recess.

Last but not least, they also get excited about building. That is why we will need some more STEM pieces so that more kids can create structures of their own.
