Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students for their boundless curiosity, incredible energy, and willingness to learn. Each child brings a unique spark to our bilingual classroom, where students spend half the day being instructed in Spanish and the other half in English. Recess is a time for them to connect to one another in all languages and types of play.
The resources in this project will help meet my students exactly where they are:
• The Big Joe bean bag chair offers a cozy, calming spot for students who need a quiet moment to decompress, helping them regulate their emotions and return to learning refreshed.
• Hands-on building with Picasso Tiles and active games engage their natural creativity and love of movement, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and fine motor skills development.
• Art supplies and sensory tools give them opportunities to express themselves, build focus, and soothe their minds through creativity.
Together, these resources create a balanced indoor recess experience that honors my students’ needs for movement, calm, and connection—making learning more joyful and accessible for everyone.
