As a new teacher in a school district with low-income and high poverty. Our school is taking a focus on building communities within our school! I’m addition, our school is trying to building better relationships through hands-on experiences such as sports. I have learned something very important about my students, they love to try sports!
Many of my students are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they start to practice to the minute they leave, I focus on their potential and growth inside and outside of the classroom. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.
Weather is getting colder and colder in Indiana! During the cold months our students aren’t able to go outside. Our classroom is in need of some games and activities during indoor recess. During indoor recess, my students still need a way to have fun and still need to be able to socialize with other students! These games will help my students be able to socialize with peers in a positive way through fun games! These games will help indoor recess! These materials will also help my students learn how to be responsible and caring while having fun with their classmates!
