My students are in 4th grade in a local inner-city school. Many of my students are living below the poverty line, and all receive free school breakfast and lunch. Our classroom is very diverse and has a large range of different learners. Unfortunately, many of my students are below 4th grade level standards.
Each one of my students is like my own child.
I will do whatever I can to support each student to do their best and bring them success. It is my goal to ensure that they feel safe, welcomed, loved and encouraged to meet their personal goals across all content subjects.
My Project
Often times in today's world, many children would rather occupy their time with technology. In my classroom I hope to encourage peer interaction, cooperation and problem solving. Instead of having iPads and laptops readily available for recess, I want to encourage my students to work and play together. These indoor board games and activities are the perfect way to encourage this.
Indoor recess is the perfect time for students to practice the social skills that are constantly being reinforced on a daily basis.
These materials for indoor recess will allow students to practice turn taking, problem solving, and handling winning and losing. Also, who doesn't love playing a great board game?
