I teach ninth to twelfth-grade visual arts to students in an urban community.
My students are amazing!
They come from diverse backgrounds. This diversity is one of the things I love about our high school. We pride ourselves on being accepting of all abilities, ethnic groups, orientations, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Each student brings different ideas and approaches to every project. Students learn so much from each other in our art classes because of their varied experiences. Our district mission is for each student to realize their fullest potential. I love watching my students grow and find their voice.
This lighting equipment will give students experience with taking indoor photographs. We recently received DSLR cameras through generous DonorsChoose donors and now we want to see what they can do!
This basic lighting equipment will turn our classroom into a photography studio.
Students will learn the fundamentals of lighting and and portraiture through photography. The tripods will hold the camera steady while the lights and reflector illuminate our models. This will be the start of our indoor photo studio. At this point the best lighting is outside and sometimes the weather just doesn't cooperate with our photography needs. Help us take photos anytime of the year!
