My Project

My students learn best with hands-on materials. We are studying plants, how they grow, and genetically engineered plants and seeds. A STEM project helping my students see the growing process would be exactly what they need.

My classroom is a Special Education middle school Science classroom filled with differently abled students coming from an impoverished and underdeveloped neighborhood.

Many students do not live in a place where they would have a garden to grow their own food or plants. They've never seen plants grow from a seed or pod. I want to give an experience to my students of growing a plant from scratch and eating the fruits of their labor.
