Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Gardening is a form of constant discovery. My students will learn different gardening approaches and techniques with these materials. With a hydroponic system, students will learn the benefits of indoor and outdoor gardening. The selected books encourage students to design, alter and create their own gardening structures.

Students will benefit from learning different garden techniques and build career skills that they can use and take with them where ever they go.

In addition, the classroom will benefit by reigniting and relearning gardening traditions within different cultures.

Teaching my students to care about what they are creating and putting into their bodies is an amazing process. They all bring a lot of their own cultures into the classroom. By incorporating gardening, students will be able to share some of their culture and unique heritage that is surrounded by gardening.
