This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a resource specialist teacher, my role is to work with students with educational disabilities. I provide support for students with moderate learning difficulties. Based on their individual needs, my work is to provide direct and specialized instruction for them. I work in small group settings with the students and/or I provide a direct support in their general education classrooms. In addition, I am responsible for assessing and recording the students’ progress based on their Individual Educational Plan (IEP). Our school is Title 1 and all of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students do not have access to technology at home. Students at our school come from diverse backgrounds.
My Project
This iPad will help all my students Kinder-5th grade. The students will be able to improve their literacy skills by reading books according to their reading level. For those students who struggle with writing, the iPad will give them the opportunity to dictate their ideas and compositions.
This technology will help meet the individual needs of my students and enhance their learning.
In math, students will be able to use apps available on the iPad that will enhance their understanding of basic operations. They can practice one to one correspondence, math facts, visualize quantities, minimize counting, and develop mental strategies.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
