Individual Materials for This Strange Year!

My Students

My students are becoming Super Readers! Even though most of my students come from backgrounds that haven’t emphasized education, we are working on changing that attitude. In my classroom, we embrace books, and we spend time reading books of our choice every day. We are inspired by each other's reading, and we share book talks and rich conversations about books.

My students are incredible young people who are going to change the world!

We have been reading books and stories about young people who have made major changes in their communities and even the whole world. I can't wait to see what each and every one of my students do for our world!

My Project

I imagine that when we get to return to in-person learning, I will need to have individual materials for all 65 of my students. No more class sets to get us through our three sections. I do have one class set of whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers. I would like to increase that to each student having their own individual materials for their work.

The less we have to share, the better off we'll be!

This year is already going to be a challenge, for teachers as well as students! I want to make it as easy on my students as possible and provide as much as I can when it comes to supplies especially since I know many parents have run out to get devices for their kids to use during distance learning.

I am also requesting note cards and envelopes. We will be distance learning through the first quarter and I want to be able to keep in touch with my students through snail mail to keep that personal connection.
