Individual Learning Kits Preparing for the New Norm

Help me give my students individualized learning kits since we will not be able to share materials because of the risk of COVID-19. Each student will receive their own kit of materials to keep at home and school.

My Students

My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all backgrounds. They bring a blend of diversity, prior experiences, and culture to our school. I teach in a Kindergarten inclusion classroom where several of my students receive special education services as well as ESL services. The majority of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, which are now being offered remotely to every child/family that needs it.

My Project

In the midst of COVID-19 schools across the country are trying to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. Teachers and students are having to truly be the definition of "flexible." We are having to change so many things, the layout of our classrooms, how we distribute materials, how our students' transition throughout the day, etc. In the midst of preparing for the new changes at school, we also have to prepare for the chance of teaching remotely again.

I plan on creating individual learning kits for every child to decrease the possibility of cross-contamination.

If we have to switch to remote learning each student will take their kit filled with all the materials they need to learn at home with them.

Teachers, parents, and students around the world need your help. Now more than ever we need more individualized materials to ensure our children have the same level of education they are used to and deserve.
