This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful class of 30 students. We are currently doing a distance learning model, but will be moving to full in-person instruction soon. Most of my students live at or below the poverty line and all of them receive free breakfast and lunch.

Since my students don't have everything they are so thankful for everything at school.

My students have been learning at home since March, so they are extremely excited to return to school. Currently, my class attends Zoom meetings each day with smiles and enthusiasm for learning. They are so capable to learn and succeed, but just need support from their school and community to make it happen.

My Project

We will be going back to in-person instruction on January 25th. Students having individual supplies is necessary to meet Covid safety regulations. We have used iPads at school for the last several years, and they were especially important during distance learning. Headphones or earbuds have always been on the supply list, but not all families can afford to provide them, or they break easily and don't last long. A class set of sturdy headphones that can be easily sanitized and used year after year would be extremely beneficial for my classroom and students. The class set of watercolors allows for each student to have their own set and be able to do the hands-on art projects they have been missing out on during distance learning
