This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students speak five languages and represent six countries!

My students are curious, energetic and love learning.

My students spend their day learning in both English and Spanish. We are a low income, dual language community school where everyone knows each other. They have built such a close community and really help one another grow as friends and learners. They do not always have all of the resources they need at home but they care so much about learning.

My Project

My students love math centers! I would say it is their favorite part of the day. We do rotations so that they are playing different games to practice different skills. A lot of these games are partner based which also teaches them the skill of reasoning and sharing with a classmate.

I strive to make learning fun and engaging for my students.

When math centers are in game form, learning becomes fun and relevant to them. These math activities, folders games and dough mats will do just that! They will continue to help my students be excited about math by being introduced to new games and skills.
