This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students in my independent living skills class are constantly learning new ways to prepare food with kitchen appliances like the microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. This project would help create many opportunities for my students to practice these skills. The jelly, peanut butter, and Nutella will help provide options so that students can try items they have never had, and also to give them more choices through the process. The utensils, spreaders, and sponges will ensure that that we keep everything sanitary during our lessons. These items allow for our students with disabilities to have necessary repetition of these tasks to build confidence in their choices and skill levels with our kitchen appliances.
