This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am looking to purchase through this project will help my students with Autism Spectrum Disorder begin to be more independent in their self-contained classrooms.

The students will each have their own task bin with items that are highly motivating and customized to their individual needs.

This will help improve self-regulation and coping skills along with building their self-confidence. When students learn how to generalize skills, those skills transfer into long-term memory in the brain and stick for life. In my class, we aren't just learning about academics, we are teaching skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
