All students at any age and grade level love to work on technology. This keeps the fire for learning alive and engaging for them with any subject that is given to them. Our class has very limited technology( 4 older tower computers) that they can use on a regular basis within our classroom. None of this technology is portable and only one student can use it at a time. When our class gets to play Kahoot (computer math game) they have to share computers with other students and that is if we are lucky enough to get a few computers borrowed from other classrooms.
My students are more engaged in their work and less disruptive to their peers when they get the opportunity to work independently on their own projects and not have to wait on others to finish.
By being able to have amazon fire tablets for our students will be able to keep that intrigue and excitement for learning; all the while teaching them how to navigate new technology. By learning these skills on the tablet, it will help the students learn how to compensate for their disabilities and this will help them in the future.
